Surgery Preparedness

We encourage patients to participate in their surgery preparation and recovery by taking a free surgery preparedness class.

Why Take The Surgery Preparedness Class?

Our free Classes are a great way for patients to set expectations before undergoing joint replacement or spine surgery. Patients can ask questions and address concerns regarding what will happen before, during, and after surgery.

For patients who can’t attend an in-person class, we offer a virtual class that you can attend from the comfort of your own home. We also have an On Demand class video that patients can watch online for further information (Note: this is not a substitution for the in-person or virtual class).

In-person Class

Experienced RN’s, Physical Therapists, and Case Managers prepare you for your journey

This Advanced Certification program helps health care organizations develop consistent communication and collaboration among all health care providers involved in the care of the patient — from the pre-surgical orthopedic consultation with their surgeon to the intraoperative, hospitalization, rehabilitation activities and then the follow-up visit with the orthopedic surgeon.

Our “Total Joint Program” maintains a standard of excellence set by the Joint Commission and must adhere to best-practice guidelines to ensure optimum outcomes for our patients. This effort takes the collaboration of everyone from Admitting, Surgical Services, Inpatient Care, Post-Op Care coordination, and our dedicated Total Joint Team making MMH the premier site for Total Joints.
